Need PT?

California has direct access to physical therapy. This means that patients can legally see a physical therapist directly without a referral. However, some insurance companies require a referral before honoring a claim.

You are making the right decision to try physical therapy first. Physical therapy is a non-invasive, conservative approach to treating musculoskeletal problems and chronic pain. Call us and set up an appointment for an evaluation to see if physical therapy is a good fit for you. If physical therapy does not help or does not fully resolve your symptoms, you can look at other options.

If your insurance company requires a referral, click the link below to download a physician referral and take it to your physician to complete. Once your physician completes the form he/she can fax it to (925) 417-8881 or email it to Ida@pt-specialties.com.

Do I need a referral?

In California, patients can directly contact Physical Therapists to receive treatment. However, many insurance plans continue to require a referral from the doctor.
